The independent parish in Shchenniki was established by the decree of the Holy Synod on June 18, 1882, under number 4496. Within two years, the peasants built a wooden church, consecrating it in honor of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky, and the village was named Alexandrovskoye. With the growth of the population, the need arose for the construction of a stone church that could accommodate more parishioners.

On March 7, 1898, the clergy and the church elder of Alexandrovskoye village appealed to His Grace Alexy with a request to permit the construction of a stone church based on the proposed project. A week later, on March 14, a report was sent to the Vyatka Spiritual Consistory explaining the sources of funding for the construction, available funds, preliminary estimates of expenses, and the obligations of the parishioners.

The construction of the stone church was undertaken by Fyodor Alexandrovich Makarov, a peasant from the Makarovsky settlement, a well-known contractor who had built around a hundred churches in various provinces. He wished to leave a memory of himself by building a church in his parish.

The stone Alexander Nevsky Church was built from 1898 to 1903 and was consecrated on January 8, 1904. On December 7, 1905, the right chapel in honor of the Iveron Mother of God was consecrated. The main altar is dedicated to Alexander Nevsky, the right altar to the Iveron Mother of God, and the left altar to Seraphim of Sarov. The church is located 300 versts from Vyatka and 78 versts from Yaran.

According to the staff, the parish has a priest and a psalmist, with their apartments being state-owned. The land area is 1 desyatina and 1200 sazhen. The priest's income reaches 1100 rubles, while the psalmist earns 370 rubles. They collect up to 250 poods of rye and oats.

The parish includes 1112 Orthodox men and 1185 women, 239 baptized Mari men and 295 women, as well as 148 Old Believer men and 153 women. The parish unites 12 settlements located 1-5 versts apart.
