The Arsenal Museum in Voronezh is the oldest monument of industrial architecture in the city, although at first glance it does not seem very ancient. The building was erected by Ivan Gardenin, the grandson of Potap Gardenin, for the needs of the wool factory.

In the early 19th century, the factory faced difficulties, and in 1812 it was handed over to commercial advisor Lyon. Three years later, Lyon transferred the building to an orphan military educational institution, the school of cantons. In the middle of the century, a weapons warehouse was placed here, adding a front facade with a portico, changing the windows, and cutting new doors, after which the building began to be called the 'arsenal.' In the 20th century, it successively housed a barracks, a biscuit factory, and a warehouse, until in 1979 the building was handed over to the Local History Museum. The building is narrow and elongated, made in the style of simple industrial architecture, but it features elements of baroque. The walls are decorated with pilasters, and the cornice with pediments and bas-reliefs on military themes rests on columns.
