The Holy Kazan Chimeevsky Men's Monastery is located in the village of Chimeevo, which was first mentioned in 1681. The village was named after the first settler, a former convict by the surname Chimeev. According to legend, in the 18th century, a church was built here in honor of the holy equal-to-the-apostles Constantine and Helena.

The main shrine of the monastery is considered to be the Miraculous Kazan-Chimeev Icon of the Mother of God, which is a variant of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. According to eyewitness accounts, in the first half of the 18th century, the icon floated down the Niyap River. Children noticed it, pulled it out of the water, and took it to the church. At the same time, a spring appeared in the forest near the church, which is associated with the appearance of the miraculous icon.

On July 3, 2019, a fire occurred in the monastery, resulting in the loss of the icon. Currently, work is underway to construct a new stone church.
