The Chapel of the Holy Life-Giving Cross was built through the efforts of Orthodox benefactors at the site where a pilgrimage cross once stood. This cross was consecrated by Archbishop Anastasius in the presence of clergy and laypeople as a sign of blessing for the construction of the Orthodox church. The water was also consecrated.
