In 2002, a chapel was laid on the territory of the Kostroma distillery, one of the oldest enterprises in the city, founded in the 19th century, in honor of Saint Boniface, the patron of sobriety. The initiative for the construction came from the Kostroma diocese, which received full consent from the management and staff of the distillery. People pray to Saint Boniface for deliverance from alcohol addiction. The new chapel, built of brick, is a simple square structure with an eight-pitched roof and one dome. Its red-brick building harmoniously blends with the historical brick buildings of the distillery.
