In memory of the baptism of the residents of Rostov and in honor of the equal-to-the-apostles Prince Vladimir, a commemorative cross was erected on the shore of Lake Nero, presumably at the site of the baptism. Its consecration took place on June 5, 2015. The cross was made specifically for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the passing of Saint Prince Vladimir. The project for the cross was developed by Nikolai Alexandrovich Mukhin, an academician of the Russian Academy of Arts and a laureate of the State Prize. The granite cross, 3.7 meters tall, was installed on the shore of Lake Nero on a massive boulder weighing 18 tons.

On September 1, 2015, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Yaroslavl and Rostov, along with the dean of the Rostov district parishes, Archpriest Roman Krupnov, and clergy of the Yaroslavl Diocese, consecrated the chapel in honor of the equal-to-the-apostles Prince Vladimir, located next to the commemorative cross.
