Chapel of St. George the Victorious at Pyatnitskoye Cemetery in Kaluga

The chapel of St. George the Victorious was built in 2014 at the Military Cemetery in honor of Russian soldiers who fell in wars before 1917. It is located in the Memorial Complex of the Moscow District, near Pyatnitskoye Cemetery. Here lie servicemen who died from wounds during World War I and the Great Patriotic War. According to historical data, more than 5,000 defenders of the homeland rest in this necropolis. In the central part of the cemetery, there is a monument to the Unknown Soldier, behind which is a memorial wall with the names of fallen soldiers and officers. The chapel, created in 2014, serves as an open monument in honor of Russian warriors who died in wars before 1917. The architect and author of the chapel is Evgeny Anatolyevich Golyshev.
