Chapel in the Southwest Tower of the Trinity-Sypanov Pakhomievo-Nerekhta Convent

Фото 1
In the place of the southwest corner tower of the Trinity-Sypanov Pakhomievo-Nerekhta Convent, there is a chapel. This unusual structure is designed in the classical style, but its proportions and certain details exhibit features of baroque. The octagonal building with narrow diagonal sides is topped with a domed roof and an onion-shaped cupola. An entablature with a smooth frieze and a profiled cornice encircles the chapel along its entire perimeter. The wide sides are accentuated by risalits, which are crowned with steep, bracketed triangular pediments. On the southern side, there is a rectangular entrance framed by Tuscan half-columns.
