The chapel was built with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II during his first visit to the Tambov region in 1993. It was located on the site of the monastery necropolis between the churches and served as a memorial for all who were buried on the monastery grounds. Until the summer of 2017, the chapel stood in this location; however, it was dismantled due to the construction of a new seminary building.
