Chapel in the 'Rechechka' Memorial Complex

Фото 1
The chapel is located in the 'Rechechka' memorial complex, where once stood a village whose residents were burned by fascist occupiers in 1943.

In the Klintsy district of the Bryansk region, there is a tragic site reminiscent of Khatyn. This place, steeped in pain, is located near the city of Klintsy and is called Rechechka, in honor of the village that was destroyed here.

Here, under unclear circumstances, a German officer died, after which on September 23, 1943, all the villagers, except for two who miraculously survived, were herded into a barn, locked in, and burned alive. A total of 71 people died, including the elderly, women, and children; all were peaceful residents.

The memorial complex was established here only in 1985, built with the funds and efforts of the local population.
