Just a few years after the consecration of the Sretenensky Church, new construction began in the village. In 2013, just a few hundred meters from the church, the construction of a chapel in honor of the revered image of the Mother of God "Tikhvin" commenced. The initiator of the construction was the head of the Belgorod Customs, Major General Anatoly Vasilyevich Ushakov.

On May 16, 2014, the rector of the Sretenie of the Lord Church in the village of Lapygino, Priest Mikhail Yaprintsev, consecrated the cross and dome for the chapel being built at the local cemetery. On September 26, 2014, Metropolitan Ioann of Belgorod and Stary Oskol consecrated the new chapel.
