Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Olgino

Фото 1
In the parish of the village of Lugani, near the village of Olgino, there stands a wooden chapel on the grounds of the former estate of landowner Chelishchev. It was built over a well located at the foot of a mountain, in a forest, on the banks of the Usazha River, which flows into the Nerusa.

This spring is known as "Skorysh." It is believed to have received this name due to its rapid filling with water. According to another version, the name "Skoryzh" is related to the fact that the forest where the spring was found was called "skory." Every year on the day of the Pentecost, a procession is held to the chapel for a prayer service and the blessing of water. The first mention of the holy spring in church archives dates back to 1860. In the 1930s, the chapel was destroyed by order of the Soviet authorities. The complex at the holy spring "Skorysh" was restored only in 2005 and consecrated in 2006.
