Chapel of St. George the Victorious in Stroitely

Фото 1
The chapel in honor of St. George the Victorious in the city of Stroitely was consecrated on August 3, 2002, by Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol. It was built in memory of the Yakovlev soldiers who died while fulfilling their military duty in various armed conflicts.

Inside the chapel are the names of soldiers and officers. Under the dome is a bell, and on the back wall is an icon of St. George the Victorious, who is considered the patron of all warriors.

On the arch of the chapel is inscribed: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." These words refer not only to those who gave their lives for the Motherland but also to those who are currently defending our country's borders and maintaining peace and tranquility.
