The holy spring in the village of Petrovskoye was created by St. Sergius of Radonezh. According to legend, in the 12th century, the Holy Virgin appeared here to resting shepherds. The spring is also associated with miraculous aid to Russian warriors before the Battle of Kulikovo. At this spring, the Russian army was able to quickly regain strength and heal from wounds. After the victory, merchants and townspeople helped build a chapel over the spring, and at that time the spring was consecrated. In 2010, the old chapel was demolished, and a new one was built in its place. In front of the chapel, there is a small moat, over which a light wooden bridge with railings is thrown.
