At the foot of a picturesque hill, in the floodplain of the Tesh River, near the village of Arkhangelsk in the Shatkovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, there is a holy spring known as "Boiling Spring." Its healing properties have been known since the mid-19th century, and local residents likely knew about them for a long time. In those days, an expedition of explorers sent a letter to the Nizhny Novgorod governor, reporting the discovery of mineral sulfur waters in these areas. These sulfur springs release a significant amount of sulfur in their streams and riverbed. In addition, there are also springs with iron and saline minerals that have yet to be studied. The right side of the Tesh River consists of sulfur springs and swamps, while the left side has iron and bitter-salty sources.

Recently, the area around the "Boiling Spring" has been improved: a bathing facility and a chapel have been built, which were consecrated by Father Evgeny, the rector of the Shatkovsky church. A plaque at the entrance to the spring area indicates that this was done in honor of the 100th anniversary of the canonization of Seraphim of Sarov.
