The Christmas chapel, located in the center of the village of Pustosh, has an unknown date of construction, as well as unknown authors, builders, and clients. However, based on its architectural and artistic forms, it can be assumed that it was erected in the second half of the 13th century. In the early 1930s, the chapel was closed, and from 1940 until the end of the 1960s, it was used as a storage facility. The building originally consisted of two parts: the chapel itself and the narthex-dining hall, which was accessed from the west by a porch. Later, a bell tower was built in place of the porch, but the exact time of its construction is unknown. In the 19th century, the entire building was clad in boards, and the roofs were changed: instead of the gabled roofs with wooden shingles, dome-shaped roofs covered with iron were installed. Recently, the chapel has lost its dome, foundation, cross, the top of the bell tower, and the porch in front of the entrance. The northern window of the dining hall was vertically enlarged. No restoration work has been carried out.

The main log structure of the chapel at the window level is a rectangle, elongated from east to west and divided into two parts: the chapel itself and the narthex-dining hall. To the west, a rectangular bell tower adjoins it. The porch in front of the entrance has not survived. The composition of the building features two tiered volumes: the top of the chapel and the bell tower, which consists of three tiers. The log structure of its base rises to the level of the upper walls of the narthex-dining hall. Above it is a square section, narrowed relative to the longitudinal axis of the building. Its western and eastern walls continue the height of the walls of the square base, while the northern and southern walls are built on transfer beams.

The third tier, the bell tier. Nine columns, located at the vertices of an octagon and one in the center, supported the top of the bell tower, which is now lost. Between the columns, a railing for the bell platform is secured, consisting of vertical slats between two horizontal beams. The protruding parts of the bell tower's base are covered according to the slope of the gable roof of the narthex. The square of the chapel rises above the ridge of the narthex roof to the height of the slope formed by the upper logs above each wall. The covering of the square above the slope is four-pitched, transitioning to a dome shape closer to the center.

Above the dome, a squat square is constructed, with a covering similar to that of the base. The neck, dome, cross, and possibly other structures above the octagon are lost. The building is set on stones without a foundation. The bell tower, dining hall, and square of the chapel are hewn "in the round" with a remainder, while the octagon of its top is made of "in the paw" timber. The log structure of the original part of the building has a high underfloor with separate storerooms, one of which has a door cut through. The Christmas chapel is distinguished by its architectural expressiveness. Due to its volumetric forms and composition, it stands out among other buildings in the village. Being the only vertical structure, the chapel plays an organizing role in the village layout. It is one of the few surviving chapels in the area with a tiered top, similar to the chapels in the village of Kunib and the village of Vadyb.
