The Chapel of the Nativity of John the Baptist is located in the village of Prokopyevka, situated on the left bank of the Pozheg River, a tributary of the Vychegda River, in the Republic of Komi. This wooden structure was built in the late 19th century. Although exact data on the construction of the chapel has not survived, it is known that the village of Prokopyevka was founded in 1850, and chapels in the villages along the Pozheg River began to be constructed around the 1870s. Many apostolic and prophetic churches were dedicated to John the Baptist, and the chapel in Prokopyevka is one such structure. Despite being relatively well-preserved, without proper conservation, the chapel may continue to deteriorate.
