The Chapel of the Crucifixion, also known as the Chapel of Peter, Archbishop of Voronezh, was built in 2005-2006 over the cave temples. It is dedicated to the blessed hieromartyr Peter (Yeryomenko), whose grave is located inside, as well as to all the new martyrs and confessors of Russia. This is a single-domed cubic chapel with facades adorned with trifoliums.

Blessed Elder Peter (Yeryomenko) was born in the village of Belogorye and lived in the monastery caves. In the late 1930s, he was arrested and died in the Ostrogozhsk prison.
