Chapel of Peter and Fevronia in Zhaisk

Фото 1
In the village of Zhaisk, a chapel has been built at a site that has long been called "Prince's Forgiveness." Here, one can recall the legend of Peter and Fevronia: after being exiled from Murom, they made a second stop on the banks of the Oka River. This place is located near the former Trinity-Peremilov Monastery, by the village of Zhaisk, where a Cross of Veneration is now installed. It was here that the princes were reached by their repentant subjects. Since then, this place has been known as "Prince's Forgiveness." In the 21st century, a chapel and a monument to Peter and Fevronia were erected here. Next to the new monument in the village stands an old church dedicated to the Resurrection of the Lord, as well as a preserved merchant mansion.
