In the village of Krasny Luch, formerly known as Lachugi, a Orthodox chapel has reopened in the Petushinsky district. For many years, this ancient building housed a store. After reconstruction, the chapel has gained a new roof and dome, which was recently installed with the help of a tower crane. This significant moment was captured by Stanislav Zamyatin, who decided to stop while passing by.

Until 1917, all church services were held in the chapel. Later, the dome was demolished, and the building was used as a workshop and store, the frescoes were destroyed, and the windows were bricked up. For many years, I passed by and didn’t even know what this building was. Now, in time for Easter, the chapel is being restored with funds from a private individual, which pleases the local residents. The name of the benefactor is unknown to me, I only know that it is a woman who owns a factory in Sanino, the video author said.

The red brick chapel was built in the late 19th century and consecrated in honor of St. Panteleimon the Healer. During the Soviet era, it was closed, and local authorities turned the chapel into a store. However, the villagers sought to restore the building to its original significance. During the installation of the dome, people recalled how sacraments and funerals were held in this small church.

The ceremony was attended by parishioners and priests. Everything went smoothly and without unnecessary noise, Stanislav reported to "Priziv TV".

However, the restoration of Orthodox shrines has sparked mixed reactions. Some advised the unknown sponsor to pay attention to social facilities.

As for this building, I want to note the high quality of the new roof and dome. From my conversations with locals, I understood that this person is doing it not for a place in heaven, but out of goodwill. Bringing a crumbling structure back to order is no small task. We should not look for negativity in everything. The problems of hospitals and schools are a systemic issue that cannot be solved by one private individual, even if they invest all their funds, Stanislav noted.

In the early 20th century, more than 600 people lived in the village of Lachugi; now about 50 reside here. Perhaps the chapel, newly reopened after a long oblivion, will become a symbol of the revival of this place.
