One of the two main attractions of the village of Srostki is the Chapel of Vasily the Great, built in honor of the famous Russian actor, writer, and film director Vasily Makarovich Shukshin. It is popularly known as the Vasilyevskaya Chapel.
This brick cubic chapel, dedicated to the heavenly patron of the renowned actor, features a tall tent-like roof. Its solemn laying took place on May 12, 1991, with the participation of Patriarch Alexy II; however, due to a lack of funds, the construction was completed only in 2005. The chapel is located near the village cemetery and is a popular spot for tourists and locals.
