The stone chapel with a single dome was built in 2004 near the Moscow-Tambov highway with funds from the residents of Michurinsk, including G.N. Sukharev and O.A. Chetvertakov. In December 2005, it was consecrated by Bishop Theodosius of Tambov and Michurinsk. The chapel belongs to the Church of the Prophet Elijah in Michurinsk. The initiator of its construction was the rector of the Church of the Prophet Elijah, Archpriest Pavel Medvedev, who is also known as a pilot of ultralight aviation and a master of sports of the USSR, having made 2590 parachute jumps.
