The village of Kodochigi was founded in the late 18th century. According to most locals, it was established by settlers from the village of Arbazha, located in the Vyatka province. In 1909-1910, the Nikolskaya Church was built in the village, next to which a cemetery was arranged. In 1936, the church was destroyed, but the building was preserved. At the end of 1926, the first primary school was opened in the village, and in 1963, an eight-year school. After the war, the first club appeared in Kodochigi, located in the building of the former church. In 1987, a new House of Culture building was put into operation, and in 2000, a chapel was built on the site of the former church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
