The chapel is located at the beginning of the village, if coming from Sodder, on the grounds of a cemetery surrounded by dense fir trees. Nearby stands an ancient pilgrimage cross from the early 19th century, sheltered by a canopy. These monuments are hard to notice from the road, but this is where the main entrance to the village is located. The chapel was built in the mid-19th century and is a traditional cell structure of that time. The main building includes a prayer room, a vestibule, and a small porch, above which rises a bell tower. The building is entirely wooden, clad with planks both inside and out. A staircase from the vestibule leads to the bell tower. A six-pointed cross is installed a few meters from the chapel on a wooden platform with a carved roof.

The chapel is always open to pilgrims, and local residents keep a close watch over it. Perhaps due to the preserved Orthodox faith and the people living in the area, the chapel has not been looted. Some family icons, though in poor condition and not subject to restoration, adorn the chapel, reminding of the depth of Christian faith in these places.

The chapel and the cross are included in the list of cultural heritage sites of the Pryazha municipal district.

Kamnenavolok, one of the ancient villages located along the shores of water bodies that are part of the Shuya River basin, as well as the Suoyoki and Tarasyoki rivers, is situated on the shore of the picturesque Lake Shotozero in the Pryazha district of the Republic of Karelia. Like in other villages on the shores of Lake Shotozero, the main occupation of the local residents has always been fishing. The village has three architectural monuments: the Filippov estate, the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the ancient pilgrimage cross. The Filippov estate is located on the shore of the lake, surrounded by a fence, and includes a house, a large barn, and a bathhouse. It was built by the Filippov brothers and is now an ordinary private house. The chapel and the pilgrimage cross represent interesting monuments of Orthodox architecture and Christian heritage.
