In 2014, the construction of a chapel began on the territory of the World Sambo Academy. A group of athletes decided to fulfill the dream of the academy's founder, honored coach of the USSR Mikhail Gennadyevich Burdikov, to create a place for prayer within the sports institution. Almost a year later, on October 2, 2015, the dean of the Kstovo district, archpriest Alexiy Yolkin, along with the clergy, conducted the consecration of the chapel in honor of the Archangel Michael. Thus, the students decided to once again honor the memory of their beloved coach. The consecration of the chapel coincided with the opening of the Russian Sambo Cup, which took place in Kstovo from October 2 to 4, 2015. Archpriest Alexiy Yolkin, addressing those gathered, noted that the city now has another heavenly patron, the Archangel Michael.
