In the summer of 2011, a joyful event took place in the village of Gorki in the Uglich district: a spring was restored next to the Church of St. Basil the Great, consecrated in honor of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg. According to some reports, the consecration of the spring was performed by the righteous St. John of Kronstadt. The rector of the church in Gorki, Archpriest Alexander Lukich Ilyinsky, was a classmate of St. John of Kronstadt; they studied together in seminary and maintained a friendly relationship and correspondence afterward. In the last century, after a water pump was installed in the village, the spring fell into disrepair. This summer, the villagers and benefactors, together with Priest Sergey Maevsky, managed to restore the spring and equip a closed baptismal pool nearby.
