In the 18th and early 19th centuries, there were two churches in the village of Strigino: one in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God with an altar dedicated to Archangel Michael, and the other in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The first church was dismantled in 1826 due to its dilapidated condition, and its materials were used for firing bricks in the construction of a new stone church. The Nicholas church burned down in 1841.

The construction of the stone church began in 1826 and lasted nearly three decades. The main church was consecrated in 1855. It has three altars: the main one in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, in the warm refectory, in the name of Archangel Michael, consecrated in 1839, and in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, consecrated in 1844.
