On December 29, 2005, the church in honor of the holy martyr John the Warrior was consecrated, built with the funds of the famous science fiction writer Andrei Belyanin. This church became the only Orthodox church in the city microdistrict 'Zvezdny.' Andrei Belyanin dedicated the construction of the church to the memory of his son Ivan, who tragically lost his life at the hands of criminals in the spring of 2004. The chapel was built on the grounds of the school where his son studied. The iconostasis for the chapel was made in Bulgaria.
