The holy spring in the village of Maryevka, Arzamas district, known as the Maryevsky spring, is consecrated in honor of John the Baptist. It also has other names, such as the Silver Spring and the Shumley Spring, which are familiar to local historians. The spring has been revered for many centuries, and in the past, people would come here in a procession from the village of Abramovo. Recently, the area around the spring has been improved: an arch was built at the entrance, a separate bathing area was equipped, a canopy over the spring was constructed, a parking area was created, and the open chapel was restored.
