The church in the village of Brodnica was first built in 1673 and consecrated in honor of the righteous God-parents Joachim and Anna. Later, in 1859, the parishioners erected a wooden church with a bell tower. It had one altar, also dedicated to the God-parents Joachim and Anna. The church was well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books.

Among the relics, the ancient altar icon of the Mother of God, known as the Odihria, was particularly venerated. Important documents were kept in the church: metric books starting from 1802 and confession lists from 1856. The parish included only the village of Brodnica, where 126 men and 174 women lived.
