Bakunino is a village that is part of the Ilyinsky rural council in the Gorodetsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It is located on a hill 30 km from Nizhny Novgorod and 3 km from the left bank of the Volga. In the center of the village stands a stone Orthodox chapel, which is a monument of architecture.
