The ancient wooden chapel of Prophet Elijah is over a hundred years old. It was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Over time, the building deteriorated and fell into disrepair. Local residents boarded up the windows and doors until they decided to restore the chapel. In December 2011, the last photo was taken before the fundraising for restoration began. The village of Abrosovo is mainly inhabited by dacha owners from Moscow, whose grandfathers and great-grandfathers built houses here. Some of these cottages are already three hundred years old. Therefore, restoring the chapel became a matter of honor for them. In the end, about a quarter of a million rubles were raised. Part of this money was used to pay the work crew that handled the exterior cladding of the chapel. The residents painted the walls and laid the floors themselves, as well as brought icons. Some of them were cut out from calendars and placed in frames. The chapel was consecrated by a priest from a neighboring village.
