On the day of the celebration of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Sign' in the village of Medyany, Pilninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region, the dean of the district, Priest Mikhail Kozhukhar, together with the rector of the Church of John the Theologian from the village of Kamenska, Priest Alexander Magar, held a festive prayer service at the construction site of the chapel in honor of this icon.

The construction of the chapel is being carried out with the support of the local rural administration and the efforts of the faithful. Previously, there was the Medyansky Women's Pokrovsky Monastery of the Kurmysh District of the Simbirsk Province, which was destroyed in the 1930s. Now, Father Mikhail is conducting historical research to determine the exact locations of all the buildings of the monastery. According to him, before the construction of the chapel began, the remains of two individuals, presumably who worked at the Pokrovsky Monastery, were discovered. With the blessing of the dean of the Pilninsky District, these remains were reburied in coffins next to the chapel.
