The holy well is located in the Soldatsky ravine, a few kilometers from the village of Bolshoye Nagatkino in the Tsilninsky district. Despite its remoteness, locals often come here for healing water. In spring and summer, this place becomes a site of pilgrimage. Villagers come to the river to relax and rid themselves of worries and fatigue.
The well was named 'holy' after the appearance of the icon 'Joy of All Who Sorrow' in the early 18th century. Before that, there was a post with a cross at the site, and later a wooden chapel was built. It was erected by the former owner of the village of Bolshoye Nagatkino, Afanasy Petrovich Belyakov. Every year, a procession from the church with the miraculous icon was held to the chapel.
