On September 27, 2010, a chapel was opened near Fire Station No. 20 on Olshanskogo Street in honor of the miraculous image of the Most Holy Theotokos 'Burning Bush'.
This icon is considered a protector against fires and other natural disasters. It is addressed for help by both those who wish to protect their homes and those who professionally fight fires. The first stone of the chapel's foundation was laid on April 30, 2010, on Fire Protection Day.
The initiative to build the chapel belonged to the team of the Fire Service of the Kursk Region and the Council of Veterans of Fire Protection in Kursk, and it was also supported by Archbishop German of Kursk and Rylsk.
