The nun schemamonk Photinia, an elder, is revered by the Old Believers as one of the most significant Kergan saints. She was a contemporary of the famous Mother Golendukha and was among the "initial elders" in the early 18th century. Photinia is buried in the forest between the Komarovsky and Ulanger sketes, at the site of the skete destroyed by Pitirim. Nearby are the graves of the nun Kapitolina and Mother Matryona. In Old Believer synodics, she is mentioned as "nun-schemamonk Photinia with sisters."

The Old Believers recognized the relics of Photinia as holy and capable of healing. A tomb was arranged over her grave in a chapel, which serves as an example of traditional Old Believer burial. The chapel housed icons, as well as candles, incense, and aids for pilgrims. The main pilgrimages of the Old Believers took place on June 29 and during Easter. Many pilgrims from different villages flocked to Photinia's tomb, wiping their sick eyes with soil from the grave and taking water from the holy spring.

P.I. Melnikov recorded a legend that Elder Photinia was the princess Sofia Alexeyevna, who fled to Kergan.

One hundred meters from the cemetery, along the road to the village of Elfimovo, there is a holy well without a casing, about 0.5 meters deep. Locals take water from here on holidays, considering it holy. It is believed that this water has special properties and does not spoil for a year. This is an example of a traditional Old Believer tombstone in the form of a chapel with a tomb.
