The 9-meter chapel-shrine was consecrated on November 29, 2008, by Archbishop Alexander of Kostroma and Galich and was installed on the border between Yaroslavl and Kostroma regions. On both sides of the shrine are mosaic images of saints: at the entrance to the Kostroma region is the image of the Theodorovskaya Mother of God, and at the exit, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of travelers. The construction was funded by patrons with the support of regional authorities and lasted about three months. The creators of the shrine hope that it will help reduce the number of road traffic accidents on the roads.
