The Church of Great Martyr Catherine was built in 1762 on the right bank of the Peschanka River, in an area known as "kerosinka." After 80 years, in 1842, due to the dilapidation of the church building, it was moved to a new location, where the modern market is now situated, and a chapel was constructed there. From 1936 to 1998, the chapel was closed, but thanks to the efforts of the faithful Cossacks, it was repaired, re-consecrated, and reopened.
