On January 22, 2007, Archimandrite Vsevolod Zakharov, the abbot of the Raifa Mother of God Men's Monastery, conducted the consecration ceremony of the chapel. The head of the ZMR executive committee, Rais Karimov, came to congratulate the believers. Services in the chapel, dedicated to Saint Dmitry of Uglich, will be conducted by priests from the Garinsky Church of Peter and Paul.

Protopriest Svyatoslav Mirganiev, the dean of the Zelenodolsk district, reported that every Saturday at noon, a memorial service will be held in the chapel. On Fridays, molebens will be performed at the icon of the "Inexhaustible Cup." The chapel has been consecrated several times, which, according to Father Svyatoslav, is a tradition: at each stage of construction, it is necessary to seek God's blessing, and this applies not only to spiritual buildings. This Monday, the interior of the chapel was consecrated.

The chapel is located near the military enlistment office, and during the autumn and spring conscription, molebens will be held at the icon of Saint John the Warrior. This may help parents cope with the wait for their sons, remembering how they prayed before this image. Before the start of the school year, a moleben will be served at the icon of the Mother of God "Increase of Mind."

The improvement of the square will continue: benches, a wrought-iron fence, and a flowerbed will be added.

The chapel was built with funds from entrepreneur Valery Kudryashov in memory of his father. Its opening in the year of charity, declared by the President of Tatarstan, is a significant event not only for the believers. This event will be remembered, just like the construction of the Archangel Michael Church in the Raifa Monastery, built with the funds of merchant Mikhail Atlashkin, under whose arches thousands of pilgrims now pass.
