Фото 1
At the Serafimo-Diveevo Convent, a chapel dedicated to the Royal Martyrs was consecrated. This event took place on August 18, 2019, before the festive small evening service, and the consecration was conducted by Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.

The construction of the chapel began on July 21, 2018, when the head of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese held a prayer service at this site to commence the good work. Pilgrims constantly visit the larch tree, planted in 1904 by the sisters of the convent in honor of the birth of Tsarevich Alexei, to pay their respects to the Royal Family. Icons and flowers were often brought to this memorial tree. Now, a beautiful wooden chapel with seven domes, symbolizing the Royal Martyrs, has been built here. It fits perfectly into the space by the old convent pond and beautifies the area.

The architect of the chapel is Andrey Borisovich Barabanov. He has also designed wooden churches in the Florovsky Skete of the Serafimo-Diveevo Convent and chapels in honor of St. Seraphim at the spring in the village of Tsyganovka and at the end of the holy canal.
