The chapel was built in 2000 at the initiative of the soldiers of the 245th motorized rifle regiment. This regiment participated in combat operations in Chechnya during the periods of 1995-1996 and 1999-2000, losing over 300 soldiers and officers. The names of the fallen are immortalized on the stele opposite the chapel. Of the six plaques on the stele, four are dedicated to the first campaign, and two to the second, which were added in 2000. The most significant losses were suffered by the regiment on April 16, 1996, when a column was ambushed by militants, resulting in the deaths of 73 servicemen. Every year on April 16, veterans of the regiment gather at the stele and chapel to honor the memory of the fallen.

The chapel was built with funds from the regiment's servicemen with the support of sponsors among entrepreneurs. It is a small square building made of rounded logs with a four-pitched roof topped with a small dome and cross. Inside is an icon of Saint Alexander Nevsky, created by craftsmen from Nizhny Novgorod, presumably in the year of construction. The chapel is now over ten years old and is in need of repairs, as the log structure has slightly shifted.
