On February 24, 2013, a site for the construction of an Orthodox chapel in honor of the righteous prince Alexander Nevsky was consecrated in the city of Kstovo. The archpriest of the Kstovo district, Father Alexey Yelkin, congratulated those gathered on this significant event for the city. The idea of erecting the chapel on this vacant lot belongs to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kstovo district, Igor Kiselev. Construction began in March 2013.

On October 14, 2013, on the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, the consecration and opening of the chapel dedicated to the righteous prince Alexander Nevsky took place. He was the son of Novgorod prince Yaroslav Vsevolodovich, a renowned warrior who enjoyed great authority in Rus. This is the first Orthodox chapel in Kstovo, standing 9.5 meters tall.
