The Chapel of Alexander Nevsky, built in 1892 according to the design of architect N. I. Pozdeev, was constructed on the site of the former customs market. It serves as a reminder of the miraculous rescue of the family of Alexander III during the train crash on October 17, 1888. The chapel was consecrated in honor of the heavenly patrons of the royal family, and the laying ceremony took place on October 17, 1889, with the participation of the clergy and city authorities.

An oak carved iconostasis was created for the chapel based on the design of the chief architect, and the icons were painted by the famous Palekh master Fyodor Galanov. This magnificent tent-like structure has a single apse adorned with a decorative dome and a western porch topped with a tented cupola.

The chapel is executed in the classical Russian style and resembles a low bell tower, richly decorated with brickwork typical of 17th-century architecture. This site attracts many tourists every year who seek to see the monument with their own eyes.
