The Chapel of Alexander Nevsky, built in 1876-1877 with funds from Yelabuga merchant F. P. Girbasov, is located on the site of the former Spassky Cathedral. A memorial plaque is installed on it with the inscription: "Stone chapel. Architectural monument of the 19th century." This small centralized structure with beveled corners is raised on a basement and topped with a tent roof on a light drum. The risalits of the wide faces emphasize the vertical proportions. The brick facades are executed in the "Russian-Byzantine style" with kokoshniks, lobed archivolts, and arcature panels. Wide openings with a horseshoe-shaped lintel are highlighted by trapezoidal pediments, while the arches of the drum rest on whitewashed "kubyshki." The clear plasticity and detailed surface treatment emphasize the significance of the chapel in the square ensemble, creating a contrasting connection between the cathedral complex and the Kamyshev house.
