Chapel of Alexander Nevsky in Buguruslan

Фото 1
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the central square of the city was called Sobornaya, as it housed the Spaso-Ascension Cathedral. In 1925, a garden named after V.I. Lenin was laid out on the site where the cathedral stood. The cathedral complex included a chapel built in honor of the salvation of Emperor Alexander II from an assassination attempt by the revolutionary Karakozov in April 1866. The chapel has survived to this day and was restored in the late 1990s.
