The Adrian Monastery and the holy Adrian spring are the main shrines of the Poshekhonye land. The holy spring is located in the Poshekhonsky district, not far from the village of Zadnevo, just a few kilometers from the "Danilov, Poshekhonye" highway. According to legend, the spring appeared at the place where Christians rested while carrying the body of the martyred saint Adrian of Poshekhonye. The spring was previously called Iney, in honor of the right tributary of the Soga River. Nearby was the village of Zaytsevo, whose residents were known for their longevity and considered the water from the spring to be healing.
The spring was discovered after a long period of neglect by local resident Alexey Vasilyevich Andreev. He independently cleaned and improved the abandoned spring and the surrounding area. In the summer of 2006, the spring was consecrated by Father Grigory from the Church of the Myrrh-Bearing Women in the village of Dmitrievskoye in honor of the holy martyr Adrian.
Now the area around the spring is fenced, and a chapel has been built over it. Nearby, a bathing facility has been set up for the sacrament of Baptism with full immersion. On weekends and holidays, services are held here by a priest. At the entrance to the spring area, a stone has been placed in memory of Alexey Vasilyevich Andreev, who passed away in the autumn of 2012.
