According to information provided by Dmitry Sokolov for the project "White Spots on the Map of Memory Places in the Nizhny Novgorod Region", there is an ancient chapel in the village of Kurdoma in the Varnavinsky district that is not included in the "State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Nizhny Novgorod Region". It was not possible to determine what event it was built in honor of, as the village is currently uninhabited.

During expeditions organized by the "Give Understanding" foundation, project participants discovered similar monuments in other villages. For example, in the village of Zotino in the Krasnobakovsky district, there is a monument of urban planning and architecture, a chapel dating back to the 19th century. It is suggested that it was erected in honor of the Prophet Elijah, as the village's patronal feast was on Elijah's day, but the exact reason for the construction of this object has already been forgotten.
