The chapel-prayer pillar was erected in the mid-19th century on the territory of the former Yerzovskaya sloboda of the city, opposite the Pokrovskaya church. Subsequently, due to the re-planning of the urban area, it ended up on the territory of a residential estate. According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the TASSR No. 264 dated June 8, 1987, this chapel-prayer pillar was included in the list of monuments of republican significance.
