In the early 20th century, Chelyabinsk ranked second in Russia in wholesale tea trade, second only to Moscow. This was due to the presence of a customs office in the city and the passage of the Trans-Siberian Railway through it. Today, only one building of the former tea packaging factory of the trading and industrial partnership "Successor A. Gubkin A. Kuznetsov and Co" on Vasenko Street has survived. In 1909, two thousand people worked at this factory. Currently, the building is under the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
