The building was constructed in 1892 based on the design of architect P.A. Ushakov, and it is based on the hotel of V.P. Stasov, built between 1797 and 1803. Currently, it houses the business center "Sretenska, 1".

On the square side, this building housed a famous Moscow consignment shop, where the film "Beware of the Car" was shot. In the plot, a character played by A. Mironov worked as a salesman in this shop.

The inner courtyard of the building is currently covered from above and is considered an internal space. Access to the courtyard is through an arch located on the northern facade.

The building has two underground floors with a complex system of ceilings and air ducts, which, unfortunately, are in disrepair, and ventilation is carried out using special equipment.
